Kilimanjaro & Ngorongoro & Serengeti & Tarangire
A walking safari through Arusha National Park, Tarangire's elephant herds, a cultural stop in Mto wa Mbu, full days in the Serengeti and Ngorongoro Crater, and a Marangu-route Kilimanjaro day hike to close it out — the northern circuit on a budget-friendly joining safari.
Tap a day to expand it.
You'll be collected from Kilimanjaro or Arusha Airport and transferred to Arusha. If time allows, enjoy an optional city tour visiting the famous art gallery, Cultural Heritage Centre, local market, and Maasai market to get a taste of local culture and craftsmanship.
Your guide picks you up at 7:45 am for a one-hour drive to Arusha National Park. Experience a walking safari through this unique ecosystem featuring swamps, grasslands, and montane forest on the slopes of Mt. Meru. Spot black-and-white colobus monkeys, flamingos at Momella Lake, and wildlife including giraffes, buffalo, zebras, and hippos. Return to Arusha for dinner and overnight.
Drive 2 hours and 20 minutes from Arusha to Tarangire National Park. Explore from the open roof of your vehicle as you witness the park's famous large elephant herds, ancient baobab trees, seasonal swamps, and the Tarangire River teeming with wildlife including giraffes, impalas, zebras, lions, leopards, and warthogs. Enjoy a picnic lunch at a scenic site with spectacular views before continuing game viewing until sunset.
Start with a sunrise game drive in Tarangire to spot animals at their most active. After breakfast, drive to Mto Wa Mbu for a cultural immersion experience. Visit local communities, banana farms, rice plantations, artworks, forests, and waterfalls. Choose between a walking or bike tour to explore the area and interact with local residents, gaining insights into their daily life and traditions.
Embark on a 4-5 hour scenic drive through the crater highlands towards the vast plains of Serengeti. Stop for a picnic lunch at Naabi Hill Gate before checking in at the park for an afternoon game drive. Watch the sunset over the endless grasslands before settling into camp at Seronera for dinner and overnight.
Spend the entire day exploring the Serengeti. Head out at sunrise to spot animals when most active, return for breakfast, then embark on a full-day game drive searching for the Big 5. Marvel at the park's incredible biodiversity, including over 500 bird species ranging from ostriches and secretary birds to black eagles soaring above the savannah. Return to camp at sunset for dinner and overnight.
Depart early around 6 am for a sunrise game drive to catch animals at their most active. Stop for breakfast at a picnic site in the bush before continuing with morning game drives. Load your vehicle and head to the Ngorongoro Highlands, arriving for dinner and overnight at Simba Campsite.
Board your safari vehicle at 6 am with packed breakfast and descend into the world's largest intact caldera, measuring 260 square kilometers and 20 kilometers in diameter. Spend 5-6 hours exploring this stunning ecosystem home to almost every species of East African wildlife, including the rare black rhino, lions, buffalo, zebras, wildebeest, and hyenas. Ascend back to camp for lunch, then drive to Arusha for dinner and overnight.
Drive from Arusha through scenic countryside, coffee and banana plantations, and Marangu village with Mt. Kilimanjaro rising majestically ahead. Register at Marangu Gate and begin your hike. Trek to Mandara Hut (approximately 3 hours, gaining 915m elevation). Rest and enjoy a picnic lunch at the hut, then take a short but challenging walk to Maundi Crater. Descend to Marangu Gate and drive to Kilimanjaro Airport or Arusha to conclude your tour.
