Camping Safaris in Tanzania

Tents and bedding, all meals prepared by a camp chef, a 4x4 with your own driver-guide, camp setup and breakdown at every stop, and all park fees and camping permits for the nights on your itinerary.

Two-person dome tents with a proper mattress, pillow and bedding — pitched and ready before you arrive. They're comfortable, not the pop-up tent you'd bring yourself, and each has its own space even on a group departure.

Yes — our campsites are established, regularly used sites within or bordering the parks, and your guide and camp crew are experienced with the routine (torches after dark, staying in camp at night, keeping food secured). It's genuinely close to nature, but it's a well-practised routine, not improvised.

Private means your own vehicle, guide and camp on dates you choose. Joining shares a vehicle and camp with a small group on a fixed departure, at a lower cost per person — the meals, tents and guiding standard are the same either way.

Lightweight, neutral-toned clothing, a warm layer for cold mornings, comfortable closed shoes, a torch, and basic toiletries. We send a full packing checklist once your trip is confirmed.

The same requirements as any Tanzania safari — a yellow fever certificate if arriving from an at-risk country, and malaria prophylaxis is strongly recommended given the time spent outdoors.

Absolutely — a common route is a few camping nights on safari followed by a lodge night or two, or finishing in Zanzibar. Tell us what you have in mind and we'll build the itinerary around it.
