Ngorongoro & Serengeti & Tarangire
Tarangire, the Serengeti's endless plains during migration season (June–September), and a Big Five descent into Ngorongoro Crater — camping under the stars on a joining safari, with an easy Zanzibar extension available at the end.
Tap a day to expand it.
Upon arrival at Kilimanjaro International Airport, you'll be welcomed by the Meru Slopes transfer driver and taken to Arusha Tourist Inn. Spend the day at leisure exploring Arusha city or relaxing at the hotel. A tour briefing will be held in the evening to prepare you for the upcoming safari adventure.
Depart at 8:00 am for a three-hour drive to Tarangire National Park, located 115 km from Arusha. Enjoy a full-day game drive in this wildlife-rich park, famous for its large herds of elephants, tree-climbing lions, and fascinating baobab trees known as the "tree of life." Spot buffalo, zebras, giraffes, and wildebeest as the Tarangire River attracts animals to drink.
After breakfast, drive through the beautiful highland farmland of Karatu and the Ngorongoro Conservation Area toward Serengeti National Park. Descend into the endless plains of this iconic park and head to the Seronera area, one of Serengeti's richest wildlife habitats. The Seronera River attracts diverse animal species. Arrive in time for lunch and enjoy an afternoon game drive.
Wake early for a full breakfast, then embark on a full-day game drive following the wildebeest migration. From June to September, witness millions of wildebeest migrating as they search for fresh grazing pasture and water sources. From July to September, your driver can take you to the northern Serengeti to watch the thrilling wildebeest crossing the Mara River. Experience the circle of life with predator and prey interactions throughout the day.
Begin with an early morning game drive, greeting the day with fresh coffee and watching the sunrise. Return to camp by 11:00 am for brunch. After brunch, head out on another game drive as you make your way to Ngorongoro Crater. Spend the evening at Ngorongoro Simba Campsite.
After breakfast, descend onto the floor of Ngorongoro Crater, the world's largest intact caldera and home to approximately 30,000 large mammals. Spend the entire day on game drives viewing the Big Five including black rhinos, lions, elephants, buffalo, and countless other species including wildebeest, zebras, and hyenas. Before returning to Arusha, visit the local Maasai people to learn about their cultural activities. Drop off at your hotel in Arusha in the evening.
After breakfast, transfer to Kilimanjaro International Airport or Arusha Airport for your departure. Alternatively, extend your adventure with a beach holiday in Zanzibar.
