1

Londorossi Gate to Mti Mkubwa Camp

After a briefing with climb managers at your hotel, travel by vehicle (3-4 hours) to Kilimanjaro National Park's western entrance at Londorossi Gate (2,200m). Complete climbing permits and search and rescue registration. Begin trekking through lush rainforest to Mti Mkubwa Camp (2,780m). Bring raincoats as the forest can be wet. Your professional mountain crew will set up tents and prepare lunch. After lunch, complete an acclimatization hike toward Shira 1 Camp (300-meter altitude gain), then return to Mti Mkubwa Camp for hot dinner. Distance: Variable | Altitude Gain: 580m | Accommodation: Budget camping

2

Mti Mkubwa Camp to Shira 1 Camp

Early wake-up and breakfast, followed by a gradual trek upward to 3,500 meters. For the first time, witness stunning views of Shira Plateau and Kibo Volcano. The passage from Mti Mkubwa to Shira 1 Camp (3,505m) is relatively easy, taking 5-6 hours, allowing gradual acclimatization. Your specialist team will cook lunch upon arrival. Rest in your tent or explore the nearby area. Time: 5-6 hours | Distance: Variable | Altitude Gain: 725m | Accommodation: Budget camping

3

Shira 1 Camp to Shira 2 Camp

Light trekking from Shira 1 Camp (3,505m) to Shira 2 Camp (3,900m). This trek is not difficult, and you'll enjoy spectacular views of Africa's unique flora and Kilimanjaro's surrounding landscape. Shira 2 Camp offers the best vantage point on the trip to see Mount Meru (Africa's fifth summit), weather permitting. Upon arrival, enjoy lunch. After a two-hour rest, complete an acclimatization hike toward Lava Tower Camp (300-meter altitude gain). Distance: Variable | Altitude Gain: 395m | Accommodation: Budget camping

4

Shira 2 Camp to Lava Tower and Barranco Camp

Depart Shira 2 Camp (3,900m) toward Lava Tower (4,630m), the route's key acclimatization point. This section features numerous ascents and descents and may feel challenging, but spending 1-2 hours at Lava Tower for proper acclimatization is crucial for summit success. Enjoy lunch at this high point. Then descend to Barranco Camp (3,960m), where you'll see the famous Barranco Wall—massive and steep in appearance but featuring a simple hiking trail. Distance: Variable | Altitude Gain: 730m to Lava Tower, then Loss of 670m to Barranco | Accommodation: Budget camping

5

Barranco Camp to Karanga Camp

Early wake-up and breakfast, then summit the Barranco Wall (leave early to avoid crowds). Hiking the gorge wall is not difficult and takes approximately one hour. After the climb, rest and take photos in front of Kibo Volcano. Begin the more challenging hike to Karanga Camp, featuring numerous ascents and descents. Your expert guides will maintain an optimal pace. Arrive for warm lunch. After a few hours' rest, complete an acclimatization hike toward Barafu Camp (200-meter altitude gain), then descend back to Karanga Camp. Distance: Variable | Altitude Gain: Variable | Accommodation: Budget camping

6

Karanga Camp to Barafu Camp

After breakfast, trek to Barafu Summit Camp (4,640m), the starting point for your night summit attempt. Your team will have set up camp ahead of time with tents and sleeping bags ready. Rest and regain strength, then complete an acclimatization hike toward Kosovo Summit Camp (4,800m) and return to Barafu Camp. Enjoy a hot dinner and spend the remainder of the day resting and sleeping before your night summit push. Distance: Variable | Altitude Gain: Variable | Accommodation: Budget camping

7

Ascent to Uhuru Peak and Descent to Millennium Camp

Depart Barafu Camp (4,640m) at night for your summit attempt. Each pair of climbers receives a personal guide throughout the ascent to monitor physical and mental conditions. While technically relatively simple, high altitude is the primary challenge. Reach Uhuru Peak (5,895m) and optionally descend to the nearest glacier for photographs. Return to Barafu Camp, rest for 2 hours, then continue descending to Millennium Camp (3,820m) in the tropical rainforest. Time: Variable | Distance: 5.255km to summit | Altitude Gain: 1,255m to summit, then Loss of 1,820m to Millennium Camp | Accommodation: Budget camping

8

Descent from Millennium Camp to Mweka Gate

Wake in the tropical rainforest, feeling relief from reduced altitude and satisfaction of reaching the summit. After warm breakfast, descend to Mweka Gate (1,650m), the park's exit. The entire group will gather for congratulations, and you'll have the chance to share your climb experience in the guestbook. Receive your commemorative summit certificates at our office and transfer to Arusha or the airport. Time: 3-4 hours | Distance: 10km | Altitude Loss: 2,170m | End of tour
